
Sharjah’s
Cultural Square is one of the most impressive sights in the UAE, bounded
on all sides by rich Islamic architecture and dominated by an awe-inspiring
sculpture of the Holy Quran.
The Square is home
to the Ahmed Bin Hanbal Mosque, the Cultural Centre, the Diwan Al Amiree
and the exquisite municipal secretariat, Sharjah City Hall.

has established a reputation for highly decorative architectural adornment.
For Sharjah City
Hall, they made extensive use of Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC)
with natural stone finish on parapets, screens, columns and other exterior
elevations.
Similar work was
undertaken on the Sharjah Ruler’s Office and Mosque, using 5,500m2
of GRC and Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester (GRP), the latter also being
used for the domes of the Cultural Centre.
