Ski Dome

Dubai • United Arab Emirates

The world’s first desert indoor Ski Resort recreates the wonder of Alpine mountain skiing under a blazing sun. Thousands of tons of snow will be manufactured daily to replicate an authentic skiing environment complete with five ski runs, including one of the largest man-made slopes in the world.

The Dubai ski dome will have its own weather system with ceiling-mounted nozzles spraying snow onto skiers. There will also be snowboarding, sled runs – even a mountain chalet style cafe from which to enjoy the action.

Arabian Profile provided more than 24,000m2 of Kalzip standing seam roof system with proprietory roof hatches and walkways. Vault barreled walls covering an area of approximately 10,500m2 were designed in structural Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester (GRP) insulated panels capable of withstanding forces up to 300 kg per m2. The project also involved 4,500m2 of multi-rib honeycomb composite panels for straight facades.
